The RodeCaster Pro 2.1 Firmware Update introduced a lot of new features. While some may seem like minor upgrades, others are massively important in the way podcasters as well as live-streamers can utilize this console. It is great to see that Rode keeps raising the bar. Text To Audio Converter App - Play.ht

Image
Play.ht is a text to audio converter app that converts blog posts into audio. Could this be the app that bloggers who want to venture into the world of podcasting are looking for? Table of Contents Introducing the Text to Audio Converter App Pros and Cons of the Text to Audio Converter My Own Take On Play.ht Vs Traditional Podcasting Introducing the Audio to Text Converter App Play.ht on Appsumo (Disclosure - The Above Is An Affiliate Link) I received an interesting email today. As an agency that produces podcasts for our clients, we convert audio into text. We use Rev or Temi for the most part to create long-form transcripts from podcast episodes that are provided by our clients. The interesting part of the email is that there is now an app that does the exact reverse. It instantly converts blog posts into audio to expand accessibility and reach for bloggers. It also allows them to instantly launch a podcast. Pros and Cons of the Text to Audio Converter App Photographer: Wahid Khen...

How To Use YouTube For Podcast Promotion

Image
NOTE: What follows is a guest post from Amir Shahzeidi on YouTube For Podcast Promotion - and while we at Polymash may not agree with all the points in this article, we agree with the power of YouTube for creating short native video content for your podcast growth. Here is Amir's article with a lot of insights and tips on how to make this work: Your podcast is out there. You’ve consistently put in the hours to create amazing episodes to attract more listeners. But something’s amiss… You can’t seem to get any traction. You’re not generating the growth you need. Here’s the thing, building a business and brand today is less about selling and more about showing how you can add value to your audience’s lives. And that’s probably one of the main reasons why you started your podcast. Adding value, however, involves more than just creating great content. You need to promote it feverishly to capture the attention and hold the attention of your target audience. The former, unfortunately, is...

Why Blue Yeti Podcasting Microphones Are Not A Good Choice

Image
I have to admit my Podcasting Microphone Pet Peeve: The Blue Yeti Mic. Recently I attended a coaching group meetup, and the presenter was a consultant who also considered herself a podcasting expert. And it was put to us in dogmatically certain terms that "The Blue Yeti Podcasting Mic Is Simply The Best Microphone For Podcasters". And in this post it is my solemn duty to disabuse our dear prospects and Yeti fans of this notion. First of all: There is no such thing as a Blue Yeti Podcasting Mic. It is simply the Blue Yeti Mic. At the coaching meetup I kept my mouth shut, but it was hard. And, this is not the first time I heard this, and we have worked with lots of podcast clients who approach us with initial Blue Yeti podcasting pride. Podcast Content Strategy - 4 Reasons Content Marketers Should Try It

Image
Things are always changing, and this is especially true in content marketing. Podcast content strategy is still wide open to get your brand, message, or business out there. If you're in this field, you'd be aware that the internet runs on content. With regards to lead generation and attracting the right traffic with SEO savvy, the rules change often. Add to this a bewildering array of potential channels for content, it's no wonder that navigating this terrain can seem difficult. With so many bright shiny objects everywhere, many of us lose our way. I. A Podcast Content Strategy Avoids Digital Sharecropping We've seen exhausted clients pour all of their efforts into “rented” social media platforms, posting on Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Medium, Twitter, YouTube and other channels. To them, it seems like they are doing the right thing. They gravitate to where they feel their audiences' attention is. Nothing seems wrong with that. But often there is a lack of...

Podcast Audiogram Alternatives For Promotion and Visual Storytelling

Image
What's a truly viable podcast audiogram alternative for promotion and visual storytelling? I've been looking into video and audiogram platforms and tools to help promote podcasts on social media - particularly beneficial for that back-log of episodes that offer evergreen content that are still highly valuable. Using video as a way to bring your back catalogue to life is a no-brainer! In this post, I explain how excited we are about the InVideo platform. It is an alternative to pure audiogram platforms, and an easy way of using short videos to tell the story of podcast episodes. Most podcasters are already familiar with audiograms for social sharing of podcast episodes. I've been wondering if podcast audiograms are really the best way to promote in a "video" format, and if there might be better alternatives. We think the overall effect is visually more compelling than ordinary audiograms. Those of you who know me accept that I'm somewhat geeky when it c...
